Every semester, area high school students come to UNK’s Art and Design department and are challenged to imagine a future at UNK. This Wednesday, 70 students from eight high schools experienced what it is like to be guided by our experienced and knowledgable faculty in workshops and demonstrations that included photography, ceramics, glassblowing, animation, portfolio building, printmaking, and letterpress.

Students from Amherst, Axtell, Bellevue East, Grand Island Northwest, Kearney High, Ogallala, Overton, and Ravenna got to experience firsthand what being a college art student is like and see the opportunities available in art-centric careers. Students spent time with both faculty and undergraduate students, ask questions, and explore the possibilities that the UNK Art and Design department provides.
