Fifteen UNK students in an Art History 475 course, Cultural Studies Through Art taught by Mallory Wetherell, spent a week in New York City in early May. Participants visited The Metropolitan Museum of Art (Guggenheim), the Museum of Natural History (Whitney), and The Museum of Modern Art. The group toured the Chelsea Collectives Galleries and the Greenwich House Pottery Studios. While in New York, the students took a ferry to the Statue of Liberty, took in Times Square and a Broadway Play, attended a Blue Man Group Performance, and visited Ground Zero and the National 9.11 Memorial.

The graffiti tour included a hands-on component in SoHo. Equipped with spray paint, the students collaborated on a street mural shown in photos above.
