Bushido: Way of the Warrior

This exhibit was designed as an actual display of part of a traveling exhibition of the history of Japan. The samurai is the most predominat historical figure of federal Japan. The unique ethical system of honor, bushido, is what made the samurai to intriguing. This complex system is the focus of the exhibit along with the mental discipline of the samurai. The intent of this exhibit was to educate society about the samurai's lifestyle and the aspect of their phiosophy and honor. The cultivation of both the body and mind and the introspecton were important qualities. Thus, the principles of Zen Buddhism and how they applied to the samurai also became a factor.
