The current Freshman Art Scholarship application, for the 2010-11 academic year will close on March 6, 2010 March 19th, 2010

1. Begin by reviewing the application requirements.

2. Prepare an essay paragraph (150 words or less): "Why I want to study Art" and/or "My career goals are…in ten years I would like to accomplish" and/or "UNK was my first choice because." (150 words or less)

3. Prepare portfolio images. The ten (10) photos or scans of the applicant student's work should be saved in the JPEG format. One side of the image (width or height) should be at least 600 pixels long; each image should be no more than 400KB in file size.

IMPORTANT: There is no warning message for submission failures due to image size or format problems. Attempts to upload images files that are too large, or in the wrong format, will cause the application to "hang" or fail to submit. The committee will not know you attempted to apply if the image upload fails.

You must see a confirmation "thank you" message upon submission to be sure the application has been completed. If you do not see the message, you must adjust the images and apply again.

Please read the help files if you are uncertain about how to prepare your portfolio images. Student who do not have Photoshop, Gimp, or some other image manipulation software, can use the help files to find Internet sites that allow users to resize photographs and re-save images in the JPEG (.jpg) format.

4. Prepare images, essay, and gather other required information before beginning.
