13th Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest

Dozens of pumpkins lined the hall in the Art and Art History hallways on Halloween for the 13th annual Pumpkin Carving Contest. Claire Freeburg had the “Best of Show” entry, Ryan Busse carved the pumpkin voted “Ugliest” and Drake Sauer’s entry won “Most Creative.” Watch a video about the event at the Kearney Hub. Five VCD students win awards at National Flux Competition

Five students in Visual Communication and Design won awards at the Third Annual Flux Student Design Competition, sponsored by Shepherd University and AIGA BlueRidge during October 2008.

Poster Design award winners include Kacee Geiger The Butterfly Effect, Amy Jakobson Pi Movie, and Brian Margheim Dracula, the Musical. Package design awards winner are Andrea Trew Mondavi and Steve Wolf The Birds.
