Professor Schuessler awarded Pratt-Heins for Service

Professor Richard Schuessler was cited for his art direction on three books published by UNK, Prairie Mosaic, The Presidential Visit of William Jefferson Clinton and From the Beginning—the UNK centennial book. Prairie Mosaic was chosen for Library Journal’s “Notable Document List” as one of the top 25 international works of 2000. The UNK centennial book earned a regional Silver Addy Award.

Pratt-Heins Award winners must demonstrate consistent, outstanding service to UNK students, to the university, to education in general, and to significant state, regional or national education programs. Pratt-Heins Trustee, Tom Tye II, said “this year’s recipient has given countless hours to UNK, as well as to local and statewide organizations.”

Welcome back Art and Art History Students

Construction crews are finishing work, computers have been upgraded, and new furniture is in place. Over the summer, new art tables were installed in 302. Additional shelving was added to the print room. Design students will find several new computers along with upgrades to Adobe CS3 Premium suite, QuarkXPress 7.3, and Final Cut Pro. Walls in the hallway should be covered with a new display surface soon.
